On the 31st August 2018, a Leading Expert from GeoInstinct attended the UN-Habitat hosted workshop in Ho Chi Minh City to join working groups and sessions on Public Transport, Smart Ticketing and for Flood Mapping in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event helped to bring experts from around the world to address wide impacting issues on society in Vietnam, and which through lively discussions, helped to deliver consensus on the next steps the city should take on its mission to becoming a leading Future City in Asia.

Paul Menzies, CEO of GeoInstinct addressed delegates to reinforce the importance of using 3D GIS platforms for Flood Simulation Modelling and delivered a vision on how the drainage system (both physical and natural) can be digitised for the betterment of the city.

Other topics which GeoInstinct advised on is the use of Laser Scanning, Aerial Surveys and SLAM for above ground mapping, as-well as the application of GPR and AEC extraction from Point Clouds in order to delivery accurate models of both above ground and underground utilities.

GeoInstinct is looking forward to continuing to cooperate with the UK FCO and UN Habitat programmes in the City and gives special thanks to the UK FCO and HCMC City Government for hosting the event.
